How To Increase Website Traffic Through Google

To increase the traffic coming from Google, your web page has to be favoured by Google and be placed on the top for your chosen keywords. When Google decides who they want to send traffic to, or in other words, rank on their top pages, they look at a few factors:

  1. Website content
  2. User experience
  3. Quality Backlinks

Of course there are many other factors but just getting these 3 right will help you build trust with Google significantly. Search Engines always want to give the best content to their users and that’s why we use them. Answers are always readily available without us having to scroll through 5 pages before finding what we want. Here’s how we can be that best content.

“Search Engines always want to give the best content to their users and that’s why we use them.”

Website Content

Before even writing anything, identify what your target audience are asking. For this article, my audience, you, are asking how to increase website traffic through Google. I identified this through using 2 tools, Keywords Everywhere and Ubersuggest. When I saw this particular search term, I looked at its search volume and because it’s high pretty, I figured its something I should answer.

After identifying the search term, always make sure your article answers exactly what your viewers are asking. Never use a different, not-so-related key phrase as clickbait just because it has a high search volume or low competitiveness. You may be able to rank on the first page for a short moment but once viewers start to see that there isn’t any relevant information in your page, they’ll bounce and soon enough Google will push you down the pages.

If your content is good, relevant and solves your readers problems, they will start sharing your content and visit other pages on your site. This tells Google that they have found the answer to their query and that the page is deserving to be placed on top. While you should write articles with search engines in mind, your focus has to be on providing massive value to your readers. Doing that will never go wrong.

User experience

According to a study done by SEMrush on ranking factors, website visits, bounce rate, time on site and pages per session are the top four ranking factors for search engines. All of these factors are directly related to the user experience you provide your users.

To increase your website visits, you need to have good meta tags to encourage viewers to click into your website. Once they are in your website, your website has to load quickly. Sites that are able to load completely within five seconds experience 70% longer average sessions. If your user has to wait, chances are they’re not going to stay, increasing your bounce rate. To get your users to stay longer on your site would simply be to have good, interesting and relevant website content. Having good content adds to the user experience, increasing the time people spend on your website. Be sure to interlink between pages to make navigation easy. The more pages each viewer interacts with, the more search engines favour your site.

Quality backlinks

Having a good quantity of quality backlinks is probably the main ranking factor for Google. Every backlink is like a vote of trust that your website has valuable content that should be shared with more people. In an ideal world, people will start linking to you because they like your content, the experience they get on your website and they want to evangelise for your brand. Unfortunately the world of the internet isn’t so rosy. Unless you’re a big brand or are offering something really ground breaking and interesting, chances are you have to build your own links.

Quality backlinks can be built through a few methods such as guest posting, press releases, directory listings, commenting on relevant blogs and forums and contributing articles to credible magazines or websites. While that may seem like a lot of work (it is), the Return on Investment (ROI) is extremely high. When Google starts to index all your backlinks, you will see a jump in your rankings and a massive increase in traffic. If you do not have the time to constantly build high quality links, you may want to engage a company that provides corporate SEO services. Either ways, ensure that you are putting in resources to building a strong backlink profile.

Summary

To increase your web traffic from Google, you will have to focus on bringing value to your viewers, give them a great experience as they consume your content and get other websites to point back to you. If you adhere to these rules, you do not have to consistently fear about Google updates. At the end of the day, all search engines just want to provide quality information to their users. They’ll never decide otherwise. Constantly update your website, make sure its optimised and relevant and you will have nothing to worry about.

For many small business owners, getting started on social media can be a little daunting, especially when you are boot-strapped or face lack of manpower and time. However, it does not have to cost very much to grow your business on social media such as LinkedIn.

Here are 15 ways on how small businesses can grow their connections organically on LinkedIn.

  1. Define your purpose.

Identify at which stage of your marketing funnel you want your business to focus on and set goals to reach them. Is it to build awareness of your business, garner more engagement or convert people to transact with you? Knowing your business goal will help you work on a strategic social media strategy that will produce successful outcomes at every stage of the funnel.

  1. Build a LinkedIn business page.

According to Forbes, only 57% of companies have business pages. The remaining 43% are missing out on a free opportunity to generate leads, talent, and, ultimately, revenue. A business page allows you to post content, advertise your solutions and how it can alleviate your target audience’s pain points. While building your own LinkedIn personal page is important, a business page allows you to focus on providing value-added information that your customers can relate to.
